My drive was up and I noticed the oil running out the lower shift shaft seal. Pulled lower drive exposing water pump area. Removed the two bolts holding the lower shift shaft in place to replace the seal. Now I can't get the shaft to go the last 3/8 inch down so I can reinstall the screws. It does engage and I can shift from forward to reverse by turning it. Any help out there?
