I have a buddy with a 1981 Johnson 90 HP. Here are the specifics:
Model: J90TLCIM
Serial: J5493077
He wants to replace the upper and lower oil seals in the gearcase. Looking at an exploded parts list, the upper seal does not seem to be an issue. (Drop the lower unit, pull the water pump assembly, then pull the upper bearing housing and seal assembly.) The question is on the lower seal. Can the lower seal just be carefully pryed out and replaced, or does the gearcase require further dissasembly?
