Lower end water leak 35 evin

When I hook a water hose to the lower end it leaks water is there a major problem

Leaks water from where and into what?When you run these things on the flusher you've got water coming out all kinds of places.

it leaks out like were the lower case bolts to 20in shaft ,should there be a gasket there.

Murray44,<br />I don't think you have a problem! As Hondon said, water comes out of lot's of places when you have the ears on a motor, especially if the motor is not running. There is no gasket between the lower unit and the leg. As long as water is coming from the tell tail with the motor running you should be OK.
