lower end joint

Hi, I am selling a boat with a 1989, 200hp Evinrude. The engine runs fine and I just spent several hundreds to R+R the lower end (water pump, seals, shifting, prop seal, etc.) My question is: the area where the lower unit bolts to the middle unit does not seal up tight. I have never noticed any type of gasket on the motor or in pictures. The mechanic said all items inside were sealed and water would just run in and out. IS THIS TRUE? I have a conscience and don't want to sell a bad item. Should I seal this joint with 5200? Will it hurt? Will it help?

Not uncommon for there to be some leakage there, nothing to worry about.
