Lower end issue 1995 Mercury 90 hp

Operator Error, I managed to get my anchor chain tangled with my prop, it broke one blade but I limped home, but it seemed the engine would not go past a certain RPM. With new prop installed the engine will still not accelerate. Any ideas what I could have damaged?? I don't know where to begin. It is a 1995 90 HP Mercury model 1090412RD.

If you wrapped the chain hard enough to break a blade, you might have bent the prop shaft. If its bad enough, the new prop can come in contact with the lower unit case causing a huge amount of drag. The prop should spin freely in nuetral. Make sure the throttle cable is advancing to full throttle on the engine.
