I have an Evinrude 1995 30hp short shaft remote manual engine on a 11 ft tunnel skooter. I would like to put a low water pickup on the lower unit, but because the shift shaft connection is in the present water intake I have been told that it would not work. Could I make it work with two solid (removable) covers made to fit and seal over the intake area or does anybody else have any ideas.
