I have a 1990 force 120hp I/O l drive that I can't get above 3700 rpms at wot, the linkage is all the way open so I was woundering if a 2 cycle can get out out of time.

Re: low rpms

You said this is a force I/O but this appears to be a outboard and to get best results you should post it there. But I'll make a stab at it before Don moves it over. Every engine can get out of time through wear or vibration. Was the engine running at the correct RPM and then something happened and it dropped or something else. What happened to have you ask the question?

Re: low rpms

Thanks, it is an inboard made by Chrysler marine and all I know is that the person I bought it from said that it ran good a would pull a skier, tuber or what ever with out any problem, I on the other hand can't get much over 3700 rpms and it is slow getteing their. It starts good and runs smooth other than that, I'm not sure what the max rpms should be but it must be more than that I hope.thank you for you input.

What size engine is it, HP, V8, V6, something else? Do you have any nfo on it other than it is a Chrysler Force?
