low oil pressure

I have a 1990 Johnson GT 150, a couple weeks ago a had a restriction in the pee tube, I believe I got that remedied. I noticed when the tube came apart I lost oil pressure (on the guage anyway), so I take it that the guage works off of a vacuum. Now when I get up on plane and trim the motor, at about halfway I start to loose oil press. From about 20psig to maybe 12. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Re: low oil pressure

Surely you're talking about water pressure. I haven't seen a 2-stroke engine yet with an oil pressure gauge. I may be wrong, but when you took care of the restriction in your tell-tale your water pressure did probably go down from what it was showing due to the restriction.

No, I believe it is an oil guage for the VRO.

You're probably right. I'v never owned a VRO engine so I can't help you there. I'm sure one of these other guys can help you though. I wouldn't think that a restriction in the tell-tale would have any affect on the VRO pressure though. Just my 2 cents worth.
