I have a reman. 5.7 '75/omc the oil pressure is 50-60 when first run.
Drops to 45 warm. Water temp is about 150 deg.

After a short cruise, I stop to troll,
while in gear at 4-500 RPM the pressure drops to almost 0 deg?
Any trottle at all and she pics right back up.

Just this SLOOOOOOOW trolling pressure is the question??
There are no knocking or ANY noises.

Just don't feel right
Might this be the Sender?
Guage perhaps?

Thanks

I was under the impression that oil pressure of ~10 at idle is acceptable.. Might want to pick up a mechanical gauge just to verify the accuracy.

Not to say that oil pumps can't or don't go bad, but in my experience it is pretty rare and is more commonly a gauge failure.

yeah try a mech gauge first, just hook it up to engine, tubing it out to where you can see it from helm.

Thanks,
This is a new pump and strainer.
The guage and senders are all I haven't replaced,....so
why stop now?

I may be able to get a mechanical guage.

Thanks imported/coors

Use the mechanical gauge for testing as Coors suggested, but don't leave the boat with the mechanical gauge permanently. After years of use the thin tubing for the mechanical gauge could get; cut, melted, cracked, rubbed through,,, and the engine would pump all of it's oil out through the ruptured oil line
