Hey guys, I have a 1997 Kawasaki 1100ZXi, it runs great other than a bit of sputtering sometimes when you hit the gas? if I am idling and I hit the gas it ocasionaly will hesitate off the line? any thoughts?

Thanks.

Could be a couple of things: too rich and loading up or too lean and starving out; dirty carbs needing a rebuild and cleaning.

I just bought it from my brother, he never did a tune up, so what does something like that cost? or is a home job? I have never worked on a jet ski before but I am pretty handing.

Could be somethign as simple as fouled plugs. When it hesitates is it jsut a slight hesitation then it takes off or one of those longer hesitations and then it takes off?

well it depends, sometimes I have to back off the gas and it is ok, other times it catch's and go's by itself, but really it is not a big deal, it just seems odd, my brother(who I bought it from) said it has always done that?
