Hello,
I got me such a motor together with my "new" used boat and have a question on it:
- Is there a way to install a better alternator, because it now squeezes out only 4 amps which is rather a bad joke than a charging system for my battery... double the amps and Im doing fine, maybe something from later year models of the same make would fit?

Thanx already for any suggestions or tips!
Greetings from Germany,
Wolfgang

The 4 amp system is only mean't to maintain the cranking battery, which it will do. I don't know of any way to come up with any real meaningful large increase to run any high draw accessory. What do you want to run off your system?

One thing you can do is install a deep cycle battery & run the accessories off of it. And then keep it charged when back home.
Check the FAQ for multiple wired batteries. You could at least put some charge back into access. battery when the starter battery is charged.
