Does anyone know if in Louisiana only the boat trailer is titled, or is the boat titled also? Titled, not registered.

I think the easiest way to check that, is to do a "search" for the La. Dept. of Motor Vehicles. If you can locate the site, it should be down hill from there.

I've done that with several different states and it works quite well.

...Bob in Calif...

Re: Louisiana-Only Trailer Titled???

My dad recently gave me his boat from LA - it had separate titles and registrations for the boat & the trailer, and the trailer has a license plate.

Here in TX I had to get separate titles for the boat and motor and registration for the boat from Parks & Wildlife, then get the trailer tag from DMV. Bit of a hassle.

jtw

the trailer is titled thru DMV and the boat is registered with wildlife and fisheries, nothing needed for the motor.
