'81 Johnson 140 HP Outboard. I was cruising 3/4 throttle noticed the noise was getting loader. Put into nuetral, noise tapered down and then disappeared. Throttled up and noise returned even louder. Shut down and got a tow to shore. At home the motor now won't start (significant luggin compared to normal quick starts). I checked lower gear unit fluid...appears normal. Fried suggested it may be trying to throw a rod. Any ideas on what I should check (compression, gearing?)<br />Thanks in advance
