I have a 2009 Cobalt 303 w/ twin 5.7L VPs. When I get above 4500 rpms the starboard engine will make this intermittent loud rattling 'tin can' sound. It literally sounds like a large tin can rattling around the engine compartment. When I continue to throttle up the sound happens more often and more consistently. Performance is not affected, water temp is fine, oil pressure fine. Under 4500 rpms - no sound. Any ideas appreciated!

You better get it fixed before you burn holes in the pistons. Sounds like detonation, or pre ignition.

How about some engine information, model number, serial number.

Might want to recheck your numbers. Those serial numbers come back as a 5.0L , not 5.7. and they are from 2006/7

4012250415 & 4012250414. I added and extra '2' by mistake.

That's for a 5.7OSi-300-J engine. Can't really help you with that one, no information on the EFI system for that new an engine.
