Re: lost

maybe 67-69..... more info and maybe a pic would help.... look for a water intake on the transom on the starboard side of the drive.... maybe an engine mounted raw water pump???? if so there are some really cool inline valves that can be put in to hook the hose to

Re: lost

Could the hose bib be some kind of homemade inline flush connection?

Re: lost

Chevy 327. Old automotive type points distributor with vacuum advance and all. which is OEM from Mercrusier back then.

The drive is also a II drive, long before the TR came out.

If you go up to the adults only sticky at the top of the forum, you can download a manual for the engine and drive. It's manual #1.
The chances of ever finding parts to fix the drive and other Mercuriser parts is going to be nearly impossible. Common things, like the ujoint bellows, and shift cable is NLA.
But it all looks original and from the 68 and 69 era.

I would look at that hose bib mounted in there for starters.

Re: lost

the drives don't have pickups to cool them but rather to cool the engine... the drive is cooled by being in the water..... The engine is water cooled though
