I guess this is mostly for catholic people. They have a saint for just about anything. There finding lost stuff specialist saint is St Anthony of Padua. Some people swear by this. As for me... I'm not a member of that church so I cannot really say for sure, but a little prayer does not anyone.

In the old days, the Mercury dealers had a key for each MerControl. We now have lots of aftermarket stuff. What do you have?

On my old Mercs, there is a letter code immediately beneath the key. It's small and really hard to read, but take a pic of it and zoom in and you might get lucky and find that there is one.

Good luck!

Yes, once we confirm your ignition key switch type and small number and/or letter normally found on the front base of the key switch, you'd be able to order a new key already cut that matches your switch either by part number from "Merc" (Mercury Marine) or some online key locksmith stores that specializes in key matching by numbers.... You may or may not need to pull a rubber face boot cover off the front of the key switch to see if there are any letters and numbers such as 2B for example then either check through a "key chart" from Mercury that can be found online such as this one, to have a Merc dealer order it and send it or you go pick it up, etc., https://www.mercruiserparts.com/electrical-1994-up

Or find the number and have a store like this mail one to you,

^ click the home page for better guidance and what they are able to do/help with even if you lost other keys for other equipment...Might want to bring out a magnifying glass too or zoom in with a High_Tech phone. ;)
Not sure what you mean by MerControl
This would be your shift / throttle handle controller assembly and often some control models will hold the ignition key switch too vs the key mounted on the dash.
