A little background info would help. Year of the engine and hp would be a good start so we know what style remote you have.

If you lose both keys and it is an OMC control box with an OMC key switch inside, all is not lost. When the key switch is made by OMC, the key number is stamped on the side of the barrel of the key switch. Usually on the flat side of the threaded part of the barrel. It's usually not visible unless you separate the two halves of the control box and look on the switch barrel. It's usually a 2 digit number. OMC keys are made only by the factory. There are maybe 30 key number combinations which are stocked by many dealers. Take the key number from the barrel and give it to an Evinrude dealer.

I did take apart the remote control box, and the numbers 375 are stamped on the barrel. I can't find anything on line in regards to that number.
The dealer over here, charges a absolute fortune for anything OMC, that's why i'm turning to you guys on here. Surely i can find a spare out there somewhere?

Right where the key is inserted.... look closely as the key number is imprinted right there. What is that number?

Joe, I can't see anything there at all, all that I can see is 375 further down the barrell.

Strange, The key number has always been there... very small print though. Perhaps you have a very late new ignition switch and Bombardier has changed their number ing setup. I'm thinking from the 1970's up thru 1991 when I retired.

I'll try and get a magnifying glass and see if that throws up something. I'll be back...

Usually it's a two digit number. I have a couple hundred keys (3 types) dating from day one to sometime in the 1990's

I had to replace my ign switch last year mine is the same as what you have in your picture I went right to west marine and picked one up it was right out on the shelf. If my memory serves I only paid about 20$ for it. It was not expensive at all. The tricky part is getting the wires on the new switch for me it was a pain in the rear! But it wasn't that bad to replace.

The pre-made factory keys for that vintage box came consecutively numbered 51 to 67. Look for those numbers.
