My wife's nephew (23 yo) was killed not quite two ago and last night I lost my grandmother. It was not unexpected, she was 94 years young and the last three or four months seen her in the hosipital as much as out of it. On the good side she passed quietly in her sleep without pain or suffering and I count that as a blessing.

As the eldest grandson she named me executor of her will and I wish she had asked someone else but its one of those things you have to man up and take care of I suppose. So far 2012 hasn't been kind at all.

You are having a rough one so far Bubba' - sorry to hear of your loss. I'm rather close to my grandmother, and it's getting closer for me too.

Hang in bro - we'll be praying for you.

Know the feeling lost grandmother, and dad within a few moths of each other. Fell on me to help mother out as I was the one who knew what dad had done to provide for her after his death.

Sorry for your loss, Bubba. It always hurts, and as you age it will visit you much more often, but hold this thought:

My grandma was 88 and in constant pain,
My Dad was 84 and didn't know his name,
My Mom was a month short of 90 and tearfully begged her docs to let her go.

I am really sure they each were glad to be released from the remains of a good life used up. My loss was insignificant compared to their peace and comfort. I wept, but in time I rejoiced. Each believed that they were destined to a better place.

Sorry for your loss Bubba...

I feel fortunate that one of my grandmothers who played a large role in raising me just turned 90 years old, is still full of pi** and vinegar, and leads a relatively independent life style. I dread the day when I will have to say goodbye.

My thoughts and prayers go out to you, your family, and your grandmother.
