I bought a new battery and put it in my 1971 Manatee. My motor is a 1971 Evinrude with an electric shift push button transmission.
Problem is, I accidently placed the battery wires on backwards....started the motor, and drove it 30 feet to the dock from the trailer and cut it off. The boat never restarted. I realised that the wires were crossed...switched them...and nothing.
I went to a boat store and bought a new starter selenoied and new ignition switch....the ignition switch doesnt have a push choke...the choke is a separate toggle switch.
The boat store employees didnt have a wiring diagram for the ignition switch, there were several wires that I had disconnected and didn't know where they went.
Can someone help me with a wiring diagram for the switch, and possibly let me know if there is anything that could be wrong here.
The boat serial no. is 50173 S
