Please can someone help me - at around 30mph my boat looses power before coming to a complete stop. The ignition is then dead but will start up after sometime. At around 10mph the boat will run all day, maybe fuel pump, i'm not sure.

could be heat building up and causing ignition components to fail. when you sit awhile, things cool off and the cycle starts all over again. don't know what engine you have. you can replace several items somewhat cheaply (dist cap, rotor, points, condensor, coil) or it can be expensive (ECM, igniton module)

I found the problem, the fuel line was blocked and thus cut out the engine at high speed. The reason it would not start after, was that the gear was still engaged. Simple problems, yet a real pain.
