On our 1992 Bayliner Capri 120 L Drive, we are experiencing a loss of power after about 2 hours of play. Everything seems ok the next day until you run for aprox 2 hours. Fuel mix is correct, fuel delivery seems to be ok, and carbs have been gone through.

Another problem. There seems to be a intermittant idle problem. Sometime it will do fine while other times it will go dead when you put it into gear. I have to use the fast idle alot.

Another Problem. What would cause the throttle to be stiff when pulling back to neutral?

Thanks
Chris

Re: Loss of power and more

Just a thought, but I am assuming that an L-drive is Force 2-stroke powerhead attached to an I/O type drive.

That being said, could you have a faulty coil pack or packs? The idle could be caused by a few of the cylinders dropping off. Same goes for the loss in power.

When you are having the idle problem, check for spark on all cylinders to see if you dropped a couple of them..

throttle stifness is the throttle cable
the 2hr problem is more than likely the power pack it heats up and its resistance increases
this may solve your idle problems too
trevor
