Well I've got a new problem to report...On occasion when starting my boat everything goes dead when the starter is turned over. I think it is just some corrosion on the battery leads as I can reposition them and it starts right up (no other symptons to report). I got some anti-corrosion type spray and am going to clean up the terminals and leads tonight.

Anything else I should be looking at with this type of symptom...

Boat: 1995 Wellcraft Excel 19SX w/ 4.3L Merc Alpha 1

Thanks, 3 Card

Take the leads off and sand them or wire brush them and make sure they are good and tight.

If you can reposition them and it works, the they are way too loose. Get rid of the wingnuts and put some regular nut on them and use a wrench to tighten those cleaned terminals down. Also, if the wire going into the terminal end is green and fuzzy, replace the complete cable.
