This summer I got my ski rope caught in the prop and didn't realize it until the third attempt to start it. Since then some days I may be down one oz other days ill have to top it up three ounces.

Do I need to buy a $50 gasket kit and redo my lower leg? A friend says its probably just a prop seal. I actually found no mention of a prop seal in my Seloc manual.

It's a 2008 Bayliner 192 with 135 hp mercruiser and alpha 1 leg.

Thanks

Daryl

What you need to do is remove the drive from the boat. Drain the gear lube out of the drive, then pressure check the drive to find what is leaking. THEN, you will be fixing the problem, not what someone on a forum thinks the problem might be.

, Is there an FAQ on doing that procedure? Not sure how to pressure test if its empty. My Seloc manual tells me nothing about the gear lube component.

Thanks for your response.
