Lorance Elite 5x-dsi shallow water warning error

Why would I get an intermittent shallow water warning when I know for sure I am in deep enough water. [i.e.- have alarm set to 6 ft. am actually in 100 ft]. It is a random thing that can happen 3 or 4 times in a row or sporadically here and there. Is this a known problem with the Lowrance?
Any insite would be appreciated. Thanks

We have a very large thread going on about that unit on another site and there has never been any mention of that problem.

i would like a link to that other site if i could get it please ! i moved the transponder away from the auxiliary keel , this seems to have solved the problem but not extensively tested [i think the pick up was getting air bubbles off the keel sending a false read to unit ] but until i get to put some time and different water conditions i will not know if the problem is solved .
