I purchased a 25HP 2stroke Mercury Outboard. The engine has good compression, since I have had this outboard I have put a new starter, new solenoid, new plugs, new fuse. As a said above as weird as it is yes I am loosing spark. The engine will backfire time to time so it would seem it is trying to start but shortly after it just turns over so after having a buddy turn the key while I hole the spark plug to see if their is spark surprisingly NO SPARK but at times it comes back..... I am lost never seen anything like it. The gentlemen I purchased the outboard from said it ran fine before it sat for two years getting harder to believe anyhow this is where I am at now I have debated on giving up on it but ill give it this one last shot. Hope you guys can help thanks in advance.
