I was trying to drain the lower unit on my 5HP GoodYear Sea Bee and cannot get the vent screw to budge. Any tips on loosening this old screw?

Thanks,
Chris

Ouch, that's a tough one. Ordinarilly I'd say to use an impact screwdriver, but that screw is so small you will probably just twist it off. That might wind up being the result anyway and you will have to drill it out.

Take A screwdriver that fits the head, put it in, and whack it a few times with a hammer.

Apply some heat; it helps to loosen up the gunk.

Two choices.
1. Heat shrink gun or paint stripper
2. Hair dryer

I was able to get it loose by getting a large screwdriver and putting vice clamps on the handle and pressing down while rotating the vice clamps.
