I was getting shocks from the motor on the last outing and on closer inspection I found the ground wire (at bottom) had come loose. I also noticed a second wire from the CD module (the one on the right in the picture) that was loose. I seem to remember that this has never been attached to anything. Is that the way it's supposed to be? Thanks.

Re: Loose Ground Wire

Ground wires must be secured well tight at any static metal post. If both are ground wires could ground them to a single post. Years back had a ground wire issue shutting engine down, once at shore removed CD ground cable and while holding round connecor pulled cable sleeve out, began to stretch due to missing internal wire connector portion, invisible corrosion issues. This hidden issue do happen so be aware if your beloved horse drops dead.

Re: Loose Ground Wire

Very often there is more than one path to ground on devices, so maybe another path has been carrying the load. Rest assured though, the manufacturer didn't intend it to operate that way, so expect some failure or performance issues if you don't put right. - Grandad

Re: Loose Ground Wire

Thanks - I wanted to make sure that the second wire (on the right) was indeed a loose ground wire before I connected it to the ground post.
