Looking to install a pedestal seat in a bay flats. (Sorry. Long post.)

I would like to add a pedestal seat to the rear deck of my boat. It’s a 19’, 1992 Osborn Marine brand, bay flats. Osborn was a family business that built boats in Winter Haven, FL from the late 60’s until 2004. The deck is ½ inch marine plywood with a fiberglass skin. A live well and some dry storage boxes limit my choices for a post location. I don’t have access under the deck where I want to mount the post, but I can see where the deck meets the bulkhead underneath. Since the deck is only ½ inch plywood, I am concerned about the strength of a flush mount base since I tip the scales at about 300 lbs. I was considering a pin style pedestal (I already have one on the bow) because I believe it to be sturdier. However, I have no idea what is required to install this type of mount or how to assess the boat to see if a pin style mount is practical. Any input would be appreciated. I conducted a search of the board and nothing really addressed my situation. Thank you in advance for any input.

Mike, the flush mounts i've use require a hole of about 5", to get the mount into the deck. i had one on a 1/2 deck and it was wobbly. i cut a 14" circle out of 3/4 Ply, and glued and screwed it to the deck and then remounted the mount. mad a big difference. i'm 200#. i use my seat as the helm seat on the center console and my front fishing seat. if you can't get clearance under the deck, build it up, and use a shorter pin.
