i Am looking for a date on an older sailfish, the serial number is 24860. any help is greatly appreciated

Hi:
New Alcort owner here. We have DMV papers that show the date of the twin hull Red & White boat we have that give it's B-day as 1965. It came with a Trailer made by "Moody," about 13' long, single mast twin rudders and twin "skags" that go through each hull.

Perhaps you could tell me where to look for that medalion for a serial number? Then I could tell you what our number is, and it may help you.

Made in 1965 . . . I have one of similar vintage.

This won't help you, but for owners of "newer" Sunfish... they have the S/N cast into the transom of the fiberglas. Last two digits are the year of manufacture, with a letter following that indicates month:

AMF = Manufacturer
12345 = mfg number ( coding unknown )
M = USCG id style identifier
73 = Model Year
A = Month built

My S/N = AMFXXXXXM81D = April 1981.
