Looking to buy 1995 galaxie deck boat with 350 yamaha I/O, not too sure.

The boat is pretty clean, but the seller tells me the 'sea water pump' is out, and the trim motor is bad. By searching the web, it seems these are very common problems with this setup, along with finding parts in general. I am wondering if I can change to an alpha one outdrive easily if at all, or just walk away. The boat is 2500 with trailer and runs good. but I don't want to buy a cursed machine. Any advice or help would be appreciated.

Unless ya plan to buy it, 'n Junk it out, sellin' the parts, tryin' for a profit.... I wouldn't....

To do the swap you suggest, means a Full Refit, Pulleys, to Prop....

I bought it anyways. sucker for a deal, Jewed him down to 1700, motor runs sweet, 150 hours on it. raw water pump spins and makes no noise, I am thinking new guts for that, and replace trim pump with a complete mercruiser model. The interior is shot. Will be bothering everyone with this old boat from now on.

Good luck using a Mercruiser pump. Easier to repair the Yamaha pump.
Thanks to everyone that are junking out the Yamaha stern drives. I've been replenishing my used parts inventory with them. Bought a compete 7.4 with Hydra drive the other day. 350 hours on the unit.
