This board is a tremendous resource. However, for somebody as mechanically challenged as I am, sometimes it makes sense to turn the problem over to somebody better equipped to do the job.

I am having trouble with my 1974 Mercury 650 all of a sudden getting no spark. See the thread at http://www.iboats.com/cgi-bin/ubb/ultimatebb.cgi?ubb=get_topic;f=17;t=023236 I am posting this as a separate thread because I am seeking different things. In the original thread I am looking for help diagnosing my problem. In this thread I am looking for somebody to physically fix my motor.

Are any of you helpful souls located in this area (Seattle), and are any of you available for hire? I can't really afford to pay the Mercury shop $90/hour, and I'm hoping somebody with time on their hands would do it for less. I will pay, of course, or I can trade remodeling/carpentry. I am much better with saws and hammers than with wrenches and ohm-meters.

Anybody???

Try www.am-tech.com there is a list of techs and dealer by state, if you can view the list of techs, only 2, they may be some help. If you want to come to Panama City and frame a house for me, your motor would be in good shape, I would get Capt ken to put the fix on it, while I washed the parts and handed him the tools, equipment, and cash needed for the repairs.
