engine is going on my 20ft pontoon boat as main engine (as you can tell speed is not a priority at this point). looking through the net I was only able to find 9-11p was hoping for a 7 or so and would really like 3 or 4 blades. Seems all I am finding is two blades.
I am hoping that someone here would be able to direct me in the general direction of either a new prop, or a new hub that will open up the possibilities for new props :)

Or am I just gonna have to drill vent holes in a higher pitch and hope for the best?

Thank you very much

You could have a prop repitched.Never heard of drilling holes for that application. That would surely be a last resort.I believe that boat requires a 20" longshaft motor. If its a shortshaft motor it will have all sorts of ventilation problems. When repitched you could also have some cup added that might give better grip on the water.

ok, desperation has led me to plastic props, piranha props is telling me they have a hub that will fit my engine and that I can go 5-7-9-11 pitch, this sounds to me like best angle i am gonna find at this point going to cost me $90 for one pitch and $152 for a combo of any two pitches. I am leaning towards the 9.5x5 and the 9.5x7. Input please, are plastic props any good, I prefer the aluminum idea better but not finding enough selection and am fairly certain 9-11 pitch would lug my 1977-78 20hp engine severely pushing a 20ft pontoon boat.

Is it a long shaft motor?
You should get yourself a Tinytach.Easy to install and reasonable price. It also would fit any 2 cylinder 2 stroke. You really need to know your motors rpm. you could even test your present prop and get an idea of what you need. And then test to see if you got the right prop. Its very important that the motor is able to operate at its rated wot rpm.Be sure to let them know what your dealing with.A 4 blade would probably be best.I have no personal experience with these props.I have heard there is rarely spontanious failure and if you do strike someting you will have a failure.I assume just a blade failure.
