Looking for parts for a 9.8 Mercury Outboard

I am looking for a carburator, and two throttle cables for my 9.8 Mercury Outboard. serial # is 7169209. I hope someone can help, as I would like to have this up and running by spring. I will buy the top part of the handle with the cables if you have them from the elbow with the two screws and cables included.

Check on eBay, lotsa parts there for 7.5 & 9.8 Mercs.

BTW those cables are still available from your local Merc dlr, P/N 86210 at $23.37 each, or $18.93 ea at boats.net:

Unless you can find perfect used ones, that might be the best way to go. You'll get nice, smooth throttle operation with new cables.

Merc has two carbs listed for your engine, So it looks like you will need to know what carb you have, So you will need to look at the carb and see if it is stamped with one of the names or numbers below. By the way those part numbers are no longer available from merc. So you might want to check into this place to see if they do outboards carbs.
