I am interested in comparing Johnson or Evinrude outboards from the 70's to the present. Does anyone know a site where this info is listed. Also what is the general feeling of the Bombardier deal for Johnson/Evinrude-any opinions?

Re: Looking for Johnson-Evinrude Specs

The motors have went thru major changes similar to the automotive industry in the aspect of fuel changes. Carbs to injection. Cross flow to looper. Tilt only to trim and tilt. Choke to primer. Battery style ignition to magneto style. No points. Electric shift to manual. Sleeker gearcases. And propellers are light years ahead. These are only some changes.<br />The Bombardier / Genmar deal will be great. I just hope they keep E&J in Waukegan for the sake of the folks there. We'll know soon. With the vast resources of Bombardier they can focus on what they need to do to turn it around. I still wish Penske would have got it, but this will be good.
