I have a 1991 Alumacraft Competitor 185cs that I'm doing some restoration work/repairs on and am trying to find the wiring diagrams and almost any other information on this boat.

Re: Looking for information on...

Just tell Alumacraft what you are doing and ask for info. Worked for me, when I was installing a transducer under the floor on my '88 16' Lunker SS boat. They mailed me their build structure blueprint showing everything under the floor. Maybe they'll also do for the wiring. They're good people to work with.

This is the 1991 Competitor 185 Series, from the '91 Alumacraft brochure.

Sounds like your doing quite a project and you'll do it right. I would imagine that this is the busiest time of the year at Alumacraft for info and help.

This scaned page looks hard to read. I'll try for larger, later.

Thanks for that page.. I have yet to receive a call back, so I'll just hang out and wait.. I know its quite a project, but it has to get done.. the previous owner spilled oil every time he filled the vro tank, so the back half of my boat's carpet is full of oil.. not to mention I think my boat has been either sunk, or filled with water with the plug left in because the floor is really bad in a few spots.. Anyway.. enough of my rambling... Thanks again for that info.. I downloaded it and see if it is clear enough to read.

[edit] if I zoomed in on that picture, I could read everything on the bottom. The only thing it doesnt really have that I might want is the 150hp engine its rated for. Right now I have a Johnson 120 v4 on it and I have been very happy with it as-is. I love it.

Here's another scan and the info.

150 hp. is the max. I would think your 120 hp is more ideal.

Re: Looking for information on...

yeah... the 120 Johnson pushes it plenty fine considering another person I ran into on one of these boards has a 150 evinrude v6 on a 185cs and his boat is slower than mine by 3mph... so its not really worth it in my eyes anyway.

Thanks again for your help.. Alumacraft finally called me back yesterday and their engineers are gonna dig around The lady is going to email me whatever they find.. hopefully I'll get an electrical schematic - I think that'll be enough to do what I have to do.
