looking for info on one i dug out of the weeds

hey guys i dug this out last spring from my grandfathers field i replaced the transom and added a casting deck the picture is of its first day out in over 30 years......by what the marina told me when i tagged it it is a 1965 15' bluestar i cant really find out any info on the web....does any one know any thing about this company are they good boats??? i plan on painting it as soon as the weather breaks and what is the biggest motor i can put on it?? thanks alot guys

I assume it doesn't have a capacity plate in it anywhere telling you how much HP it takes. Looks to me like it could take a 30 or so. There are measurements and calculations you can do to determe a rating. I don't know off the top of my head where to find those though.

The link below will get you to the USCG regs for boat manufacturers. Section 183.53 has the tables you need to calculate MAXIMUM horsepower capacity. Be safe!
