Hello,
I have a 2004 Malibu sporster with the Indmar 350. 310HP carb engine.
I have been having trouble with sensors causing alarms or killing the engine. The boat only has 80 original hours. 3 summers ago, I had to replace the low oil pressure switch. The gauge was reading fine, but the alarm would go off once it warmed up.
Last summer, the boat just sputtered and died. I traced it back to the fuel pump (automotive type due to carb motor) not getting power. The motor would start, then run for a few seconds and die. The pump was getting power with the key in the cranking position, and then no power in the run position. I am assuming that it is another sensor designed to protect the engine.
What I would like to find is a factory service manual, or at least a wiring diagram, and data for what the sensors should read or test at. My dealer is of no help, and it is hard to pull the boat and drag is somewhere for service.
Can anyone help?
Thank you,
Adam
