I'd be looking at one of the 7' Tica rods, which have great actions and are incredibly light. As for a reel, I'm not so sure I'd go with Penn anymore, as the SSg's are now made in China. I really like some of the Quantums. Go take a look at the Cabo. It's got quite a few nice features and I've yet to find somebody that hasn't liked it. <br /><br />We're now looking at $120 for the reel, and about $50 for the rod.

I think Penn's are very standard they don't really have a whole lot of extra technology, this probably is why they last so long but I've got a quantum with instant anti reverse and a couple other features and my penn doesn't come close to it.
