Looking for early wakeboard bindings

Hi all,
I have a very early Hyperlite wakeboard. It is a directional board with fins at the rear. The bindings are the type where a bright purple rubber tube applies tension to the back of your foot - possibly called a sandal binding? Anyway inside the purple tube is a black rubber tube with eyes at either end that afix to the board. Does anybody know where I can find these parts? I broke the black rubber binding this weekend. :(

Thanks

Andy

what you have is actually a Skurfer.... I am not sure where to get parts. You might be able to find bindings on ebay.

Just try google and eaby searchign for Skurfer and see what you come up with. I see them come up for sale from time to time on Ebay.

Hi,
I have the same board and have been looking for these also. This weekend I tried some vaccum hose form a car and it worked get. Any auto store would have it.

Did you just break the rubber tubing? I have the same board and my rubber tubing that holds onto your heel was dry rotted so it broke. I replaced it with some theraband tubing (I'm a physical therapist so I have it readily available). You can get that stuff at almost any sporting goods store and it's not expensive.
Good luck!

Re: Looking for early wakeboard bindings

Hi,

It was the rubber/neoprene that I broke. I have made a fix using surgical tubing that I am hoping will work ( being in the Seattle area the proof will not be tested until next summer when it warms back up! ). I took one size of tubing and ran it inside a larger diameter so that there is added strength. I then attached it to the mounting eyes and zip tied it. I tested it prior to the zip ties and could not get it to come off the mounting eye. I am hoping this works, otherwise I will look for some of the material you are talking about. Thank you for the idea!

awesome! Were you able to thread the surgical tubing through the padded part that goes behind your ankle? I was able to do it but took FOREVER and was not easy! I zip tied mine just as you mentioned and did not have a problem afterwards
