Re: Looking for a coupler Lock

only problem i see with that JB is the fact that it might be easy to cut with bolt cutters.......

KaGee have you looked at the locks that fit into the coupler like hitch would?
Re: Looking for a coupler Lock

Thanks P... never saw that lock before, but it won't help me when I'm coupled up.

JB, I'll explore the possibility, but like P said, too much exposure there for a bolt cutter. I was going to take a couple if pictures, but it's pouring rain today. Maybe later.

I bought some high secuity master locks for stuff i had at a storage place.

You cant get a bolt cutter around the lock BUT you can allways show up with a battery powered ZIP wheel :) if you really want it

tommays

Re: Looking for a coupler Lock

Kagee they sell these in sizes from this one which is 1/2" to 3-3/8" long deadbolts (for couplers with surge brakes). I believe there is also an adjustable style. My guess is you could measure the size you would need and buy accordingly. Looks like 7/8", 2", and 2-1/2" spans as well. Might be worth looking into.

I am lucky enough that a small loop padlock will fit snugly enough to make bolt cutters relatively useless....but i will prolly switch to this.
Master Lock Keyed Alike Set You can see all different kinds of lock styles at, etrailer dot com

Be sure if your using a reciever type hitch that the coupler pin is a locking type also.

Pony, the first one is what I'd like to get, but the coupler is about 3 5/16 wide.

That looks promising RP.
I'll have to go measure one more time.
