Looking at used 1996 Sporster

Hi,

First time poster and buyer!
I looked at a clean 1996 Sportster 717/85hp today
On the trailer and without water it started up cold right away and idled good
The guy said he had fun with it all summer with know problems
Would like to get it the water for a test drive......but what else should I be looking out for.........if it runs and idles is it good to go?
He's not asking a lot for it and it makes me wonder what else could be wrong with it
