Looking at this boat!

I have always been a bass boat kind of guy but now that I live on the lake, I am looking at getting a ski boat also.

I have found a sweet 1986 SeaRay Seville with a 140 Mercruiser inboard. The boat is in better shape than most newer ones!

Can anyone tell me much about this boat & engine combo? Reliability?

Is that little 140 on an 18 ft boat going to be big enough to pull skiers, tubes, wakeboards, etc without any problems?

This boat is in great shape. Floor is solid with no rot, carpet is still good & not faded. Seats are in great shape with no tears etc. Even the blue stripe on the upholstery isn't faded. Paint is in great shape & not faded...fiberglass on bottom of boat is in great shape also with no nicks & such. The motor looked to be clean with no leaks but I know it could have been pressure washed since the last time it ran.

They are asking $3000 for it but are out of town for a week. When they get back I will probably take it to the lake for a while to check it out.

Sound like a good deal? I was thinking of offering $2500 if it runs great!
