Hello.

I am looking at some small cruisers of several different brands and have just about settled on the Sundancer 270 from the 90's era, primarily 94-98 model years. Can anyone enlighten me on what things to look for that is particular to these model years? The wife was wanting marine air and frim the boats I have seem that was not a common option.

Thanks for any info,

Dennis

Re: Looking at a 270

I just bought a 1997 270. I shopped for 6 months and did alot of research. I put it on a brand new trailer and tow it to my local ramp here in Pensacola. We've had it out 6 times in 2 months and have really enjoyed it. This model came with everything except a generator. I will be adding one soon. It is a very solid boat and after driving others in this length, it by far felt like the biggest and most stable boat in the waves. My bilge was very dry and everything checked out good. Don't get anything less than the 7.4 with the duoprop. It tops out at 42mph and cruises nicely around 26mph at about 3k rpm. It may not seem like a big deal, but I wanted a bench seat at the helm for either me and my wife or me and one of my kids. I also like to sit up on the back rest when slow cruising. Most of the other boats I saw had a captains chair.

Thanks for the info. I made an offer on the boat last week and it was accepted-I will pick it up next Saturday-I feel like a kid right now waiting for the new toy.
