Hey guys, first of all i wanted to say thank you for all the help you have given me with my other boat. I am in the market for a new (to me) boat and I have a few questoins because I have never had one of these.

It's a 1997 Arriva 2552. It is powered with a 7.4L Mercruiser (chevy) that has been rebuilt to an estimated 500HP. I have looked around all over and it appears that the common power package for this boat was 300HP. What concerns or things should I look for on the test run and are there any thoughts or things that I should know about this boat before I start seeing "Tunnel Vision" becuse I want this boat, instead of looking at the whole picture.

Is the outdrive capable of this power? I do not know exactly what drive is on it, as of yet, but are there any normal concerns? I do know that my Alpha 1 Gen II is only capable of about 300HP before you start to risk breaking things internally.

Do these boats have a well known or frequent issues/problems?

Here is the link to the boat and any input will be greatly appreciated.

Hello Dave,
That boat is made by Bayliner.
Being a 97 I bet it?s got a Bravo drive instead of the Alpha. Do you know if their is any dyno sheets on the engine? The boat is beautiful but I don?t know if a 97 is worth anywhere near 24k.

Im asking the same questions about the dyno/hp ratings myself. I will have more info on the boat later today, I am just looking for any known isues or information on the boat. It is a beautiful boat.

Bravo I or II or III outdrive??

What are the max power ratings on these?

I dont know how much a Bravo can handle but I know some boats come with the 425 HP 496 MAG. I bet it can handle the 500 HP (if it actually does have that much hp).

Ok, motor is a new 500 BULLDOG with the Edelbrock marine package. Aluminum Oval Port Marine heads, Roller rockers and Roller Cam. Single Carb Edelbrock, MSD Ignition.

Outdrive is a Bravo 3 with 26* props on it and spare 24* props that come with it, all SS props.

Former motor was not winterized and it cracked the block this last winter. He has reciepts for all work and parts done to boat. New motor has 8 hours on it.

That engine sounds awesome. With a bravo III that boat will have a great hole shot.
In this economy the asking price seems high. That would be my only problem with it.

I would hope so, I am going up this afternoon to take a good look at it, and if it looks ok then this weekend will be the water test.

What would be a good asking price??

Anyone know what this boat sold for new? What's it worth in todays market. It sat in storage for 7 years unused because of court battles so it has LOW hours.

I think the price is off.

I was looking at a 25' Baja Islander with trailer, really nice shape and it sold for $17,999.00 and that was a 2000
