Am looking seriously at one and would love any thoughts anyone has, good or bad.
The exterior is in fine shape, and the water pump on the motor been replaced, but seller informs everything works and runs perfect.
Havent sea tested it yet.
Please provide any thoughts - thanks.

From what you've posted, sounds good, but obviously more info is needed. On that boat I'd personally prefer a 5.0 GXi/E but the injected 4.3 should do fine too, provided you're not too heavily loaded.

Do you plan on using this in the gulf, or inland?

Good? great boat

Bad? motor is to small for me, maybe not you but certainly for me.

IMO one of the top 5 quality boats on the market, should never have been an option with a 4.3L in a 21' boat. As usual go over it with a fine toothed comb the care and maintenance the boat has had over its lifetime is far more important then the make, sellers will try all day long to get a crap load of money for a boat with serious issues, check the bilge the nooks and crannies that are hard to clean, if you don't know where the stringers are in a boat then I would get someone who does or a marine survey.

But Chap is a GREAT boat, not all owners are..

Had a Chap and they are one of the top boats in my opinion. I have to agree that the 4.3 is a bit light for that hull but with the EFI it should do fine. Make sure go over her with a fine toothed comb. Good luck.

We would use it on both back bay and out front (bit the Mississippi sound is pretty much like a flat lake with no waves at all in good weather due to the barrier islands about 12 miles off shore).
Thanks for all information.
Any idea what ballpark insurance would be?
