Look what I found against my dock...End of the Story

We had a freak storm blow across the lake, the worst I've ever seen there. It looked like a white wall coming across, and when it hit with high winds and horizontal rain, visibility was about 30 feet.

My neighbor's pontoon boat flipped and landed against my dock. He had it raised about to its max height and it wasn't tied up at all, it probably would have been OK if it had been tied. I hope he had insurance on it, he's only had it about 2 or 3 years. To get it back upright, they used a tow truck with a winch on the front, lots of supplemental muscle power pushing on it with boards. I would have helped, but I had to hold the camera...

Here's a video on youtube of getting it back upright.

Those are like anchoring devises right, maybe that why it wasn't tied?

I guess it's an option you can get. It's a hydraulic lift so you don't need a separate boat lift. Just flip the switch and it lifts the toon out of the water. Then you tie it up.:D I didn't realize it, but he said that last year, he had it up, but not so high, and the waves made it "walk" almost all the way over to my dock. Slow learner? Expensive lesson.

That a pretty cool video, that frame flexed big time, too bad he couldn't have retracted those jacks somehow, it sorta looked like they were still deployed when they flipped it.

i believe they are called Sea Legs, they are pretty cool, I owrked on a baot that has them.

It is a boat lift attached to the boat, the problem with them is they create a huge amount of drag underway tbut they are still cool.

We have had a ton of storms roll through here in the last 3 weeks, had a tree get hit by lightning last week btu all thet happened was it blew the bark off of it, pretty weird.

Lightning can do some weird stuff. My house has been struck twice in the same place. I suspect it's attracted to the two huge pine trees at the end of the house.

Wow, but at least she still floats. Better that she came up by your shore than floatin around belly up around the lake!

Guess it's as good a time as any to clean the bottom of it. Call it easy access...

lake looks pretty good. The boat upside down is crazy. I'm guessing he'll get a real boat life for the time being?

It may not be all that bad to fix, it's in freshwater, and the topside don't look all that bad. Dry it all out, oil up the motor well, and go to work. The bimini top is minor. The part that would worry me is the list to Starboard.
Did one of the 'toons get damaged or fill with water? The SeaLegs don't appear to be down when if flipped, otherwise it would be standing not floating.

The legs were down when it flipped over, but they went to work with wrenches before righting it and got them retracted. I think the list is because it is in very shallow water at that point and it's pivoting on the motor skeg.
