So I was lobbing snowballs at the kiddos yesterday, and out of the corner of my eye I saw something. Right up next to the house. Something coming out of the ground. Look....

See it there? Like little green shoots! Is it..... could it be..... uh... maybe....

Hey Jason...I beat you to it but it didn't occur to me to post about it. I was outside Tuesday morning and couldn't believe my eyes...our Tulips had already broken the surface next to the house where they show up every year. My wife was so happy to see them, and I must admit, I was too! I'll take a photo this morning at first light and post!

Actually, it looks like my good buddy Dale announced spring first with his post last night. Corse, I'm not entirely sure winter comes to central VA anyway so....

I noticed all grass in his photos over on his thread - we still have better than a foot of snow on the ground up my way:facepalm:

Rats! Photobucket is having issues...won't let me upload! Argh! The little guys are pushing up everywhere! I think they are as ready for Spring as we are. And they arrived just as the last of our snow and ice melted away Monday night/Tuesday morning. Hey J, it's umm, gonna be 69 degrees here today! Tying a 100 year old record. Are you going to be having any more snowball fights this week?

Uh, maybe I jumped the gun. I just looked at the extended forecast....

Looks like it goes mid 40's, to mid 30's, to mid 20's over the next several weeks:facepalm:

Yup, I was definitely wrong. Got about 7ish more last night and the schools are all closed up today. Oh well.

GEE whiz I have flowers blooming and a cherry tree with blooms right now. But still keep an eye out for weather. It still gets below freezing at night. Pugetsound

Yah, I just got in from shovel duty. We may have gotten closer to 8-10 round here.

Funny...

Just as I was finishing up I am pretty sure I heard some geese flying over head. Now I don't speak goose but I think I heard one of them say...

Hey buddy you are speaking way to soon. They are predicting snow on the valley floor here in the Portland area this Friday and or Saturday. And I know that you are not that far away, so hope that you don't get the cold there that is coming this way. Kelly

I know. I'm a HUGE goose hunter too! Haven't seen a goose around here for months due to weather. Last week, saw'em by the hundreds migrating back for the spawn

Always a sure sign of spring. Now all the geese ARE prolly thinking WTH? Say it ain't snow!

whats this winter you guys are talking about, it goes from fall to spring here, It was cold today at low 60's today

Its 9F in upstate NY by the big lake, and we have a solid 3 feet of snow on the ground in the low depth spots. I have snow piled 4 feet deep for about 35 yard at the end of my drive way, you guys are lucky to see the ground, but to see something green! Wow thanks for the pictures I was beginning to forget what those looked like.

Come on man, not cool! The snow will go away someday, I am sure of it!

I am surprised that we haven't seen CBK up on here posting photos of his knobby knees while he is cruzin in his IO driven Starcraft. He has been pretty kind to us northerners so far this winter.

the closest ive been to real winter this year, other than the rain in December, was last week when I drove 2.5 hours to big bear lake to check out a boat, saw *some* snow, and not all of it was man made at the ski resorts

Slammed by a foot last Sunday. More to come from the south up. Will it stop in Ohio or hit Soutern Michigan? Oh heck what's another foot. I can see parts of my driveway again.

Haven't had my two wheel Ranger out this week. Maybe tomorrow, the wife's mini-van is like a small tank. I almost got stuck in it! Had to shovel paths around the back yard, almost lost the Peek-A-Poo's. They sank in up to their necks. Old man winter is mad at the groundhog. I wonder if the little hog knows what he's doing? Early spring? I dunno.

I want to fish, no not on the ice. In real water, soft water. I miss my boat too.
