m90.org/index.php?id=11568

edit: Sorry RF. Too much advertising of unacceptable content and a commercial link.
i agree with ya a lot ladyfish. rules of the road 101. a boat from 0*-112.5* is the stand on vessel. that'd make the coastgaurd boat the giveway vessel. ok, so the coast garud perhaps was resoponding to another call and obviously they have the right of way then. but. the last rule of boatin is a skipper must take whatever action nessesary to avoid a collision, wheather the other boater is wrong or not. geez. the coastgaurd was even filming the lack of their vessel to take any action what so ever to avoid that collision...skipper of the coastgaurd vessell needs to walk the plank i think....LadyFish
The Coast Guard was wrong IMO.
I watch constantly 0-360º. I always assume I'm the give-way vessel, since so many know nothing of the rules of navigation.Originally posted by ziggystardust:
...a boat from 0*-112.5* is the stand on vessel
That line of thinking has saved my butt more than once.Originally posted by JB:
Always assume that every vessel in sight will do the stupidest, most dangerous thing possible.
