Goodday we have a 1990 25 hp johnson long shaft. Is it expensive and much of a job to shorten it to a short shaft to fit a 15" transom boat it doesn't look hard "but". thanks ...Plmbr
Hey Plmbr:<br /><br />I know this can be done but here's another idea: try trading it for a short shaft motor of equal value. A lot of folks want the long shaft motor and you might find a good trade. <br /><br />Just a thought.
You have to change out the drive shaft, water tube and shifter. You may find the parts on ebay but I would just add a jackplate made for a smaller hp outboard.
