Long or Short Shaft

How much shaft below the bottom of the transom is needed ? Is 22" top of the transom to middle of the prop OK on a 15" transom THANKS for any help

Take measurements from top of the transom vertically to keel level and from inside of transom clamp on the outboard to the antiventilation plate. They need to match within a few inches.

Proper starting height of the outboard is with the antiventilation plate level with the bottom of the transom.
